Cape Kidnappers is located near Napier at the southern end of Hawkes Bay

It was named after an attempt by local Māori to abduct
a member of Captain Cook's crew aboard HMS Endeavour

A very large Gannet colony is located on Cape Kidnappers

I was there off season when not many Gannets were around
